Koi in glass tank

Visited customer Mr Ibrahim who has several koi ponds within his very big bangalow. One of the koi ponds is with glass panel (picture above) where he keeps his medium-sized koi. Very good collection of koi indeed!
Mr Ibrahim prefers to buy many koi at one go and only after keeping them for several months he would then determine where a particular koi would end up - either his 5 feet main pond (20-ton) or this 10-ton glass tank with proper filter system.
The best koi collection in a glass tank I have seen so far..... Congratulations to Mr Ibrahim.

Koi harvest - Ogata Koi Farm, 18 October

Top pic - Overview of natural pond, 2nd pic - rounding up (pond water drained)
3rd pic - Transferring koi to truck with aerated tanks, Pic. above - Harvested koi.
It was a very early Sunday morning, together with 10 over Ogata Koi farm staff and its boss, Mr Manabu Ogata, we headed for one of their 8 natural ponds in several trucks. It was going to be an exciting but a tiring job for these farm people.
With good pace (except pulling the net which was very heavy) and teamwork, it took them 3 rounds of pulling their huge and long net to bring in almost all the koi that had been left in the pond to grow for several months.
It was a real eye-opener to see so many jumbo size koi being harvested. Mr Manabu Ogata was fully satisfied with the growth and health condition of the koi harvested that morning.
The harvested koi were then brought back to be photographed and checked for size..... the biggest for a 4-year old was 82 cm!
